Target’s assortment is curated rather than exhaustive, and a large share of it is Target’s own brands — home, apparel and grocery lines that exist nowhere else — which makes target.com a reference for style-led shopping research as much as for price checks. There is no public product API, and the storefront blocks automated browsing. Through AgentKey your agent reads public Target listings the same way it reads everything else — find_tools, describe_tool, execute_tool — search, product pages and customer reviews.

What you can ask

  • “Search Target for a 4-cup coffee maker under 40 dollars, best sellers first.”
  • “Find throw pillows on Target, highest rated first, and list the brands.”
  • “What’s new in kids’ sneakers on Target? Title, price and brand.”
  • “Open this Target product page — price, brand, rating, description and images.”
  • “Is this Target listing one of Target’s own brands or a national brand?”
  • “Pull the most helpful one-star reviews for this Target product.”
  • “What do the newest reviews of this Target crib say about assembly?”
  • “Compare the price of AirPods Pro at Target, Walmart and Best Buy right now.”
  • “Target 上这款咖啡机最近的评价怎么样?“

What’s covered

Search
  • Keyword search with page controls and a price range
  • Sort by best match, best sellers, price, rating or newest
  • Title, price, rating and brand for each result
Product details
  • One product by its page URL — title, price, brand, rating, description and images
Reviews
  • Customer reviews for a product by URL, a page of ten at a time — rating, title, text, date, reviewer and verified-purchase badge
  • Newest first (the default), most helpful, or highest or lowest rating
Store and currency
  • Coverage is target.com, Target’s US site, priced in US dollars
To check a Target price against other retailers, pair this page with Walmart and Best Buy, whose tools work the same way; for furniture, IKEA search is the natural third stop.

How to use it

Pass the request in plain language and let the router pick the tool:
Product and review tools take the product page URL, and search results carry it, so search → product → reviews needs no manual parsing. Prices come back as Target shows them, in US dollars, not converted. Always describe_tool before executing: it shows the accepted sort values, the page limits, and the per-call cost.
Building with code? Target is available through the catalog tools above only; there are no fixed-contract Scenario Methods for it yet. See the Scenario Methods overview for the platforms that have them.

FAQ

No. AgentKey holds the upstream access; your agent only needs your AgentKey subscription.
No. Every tool is read-only — search, product details and reviews — and what comes back is what target.com shows online, not the stock of a particular store near you.
Search results and product details carry the brand Target shows on the listing, whether that is a national brand or one of Target’s own labels. From the brand field alone your agent can filter a result set to own-brand items, or set an own-brand price next to the national brand’s.
