eBay is where used, refurbished, collectible and hard-to-find goods change hands, and its sold listings are the closest thing to a market price for second-hand goods. eBay’s own APIs need a registered developer application, and completed-sale data is restricted to approved partners. Through AgentKey your agent reads public eBay listings the same way it reads everything else — find_tools, describe_tool, execute_tool — including what items actually sold for.

What you can ask

  • “Search eBay for a used Nintendo Switch OLED under 250 dollars, Buy It Now only, cheapest first.”
  • “Which auctions for vintage Levi’s 501 end soonest?”
  • “Open this eBay listing — price, shipping, condition, seller feedback, and how many people are watching.”
  • “How many bids does this auction have, and when does it end?”
  • “What did used iPhone 13 Pro phones actually sell for on eBay last month?”
  • “Give me price comps for this camera lens from recent sales, new versus used.”
  • “Did sellers accept Best Offers on recent sales of this model?”
  • “eBay 上二手 Switch 最近的成交价是多少?“

What’s covered

Search
  • Active listings by keyword, filtered by price range, item condition (new, open box, refurbished, used, for parts) and listing format (auction or Buy It Now)
  • Sort by best match, ending soonest, newly listed or price
  • Title, price, condition, shipping and seller for each result
Listing details
  • One listing by URL — price, condition, shipping, item location, seller feedback, quantity and watchers
  • Live auction state: bid count and end time
  • The eBay site comes from the listing URL, so an ebay.co.uk or ebay.de link returns that site’s listing in its currency
Sold listings
  • Recently sold listings for a keyword — sold price, sale date, condition, seller and item details — filtered by price range, condition, category, sold-date window and listing format, sorted by most recently ended or price, page by page
  • A lighter variant built for quick price comps: sold price, sale date, condition, format, bids and whether a Best Offer was accepted, without seller details
  • Sold-listing coverage is the US site (ebay.com) today

How to use it

Pass the request in plain language and let the router pick the tool:
Search and sold-listing results carry each item’s id and URL, so search → listing detail needs no manual parsing. Prices come back as eBay shows them, not converted. Always describe_tool before executing: it shows the accepted condition, format and sort values, the date format for the sold-date window, and the per-call cost.
Building with code? eBay is available through the catalog tools above only; there are no fixed-contract Scenario Methods for it yet. See the Scenario Methods overview for the platforms that have them.

FAQ

No. AgentKey holds the upstream access; your agent only needs your AgentKey subscription.
No. Every tool is read-only — search, listing details and sold listings. No bid, purchase, offer or message is ever sent.
Every call goes to eBay at request time; nothing is served from a stale archive. Auction bid counts and prices move until the listing ends, so re-check a live auction before acting on it.
