Best Buy is the US reference for consumer electronics, and its product pages carry the two identifiers that matter most for matching a TV, laptop or appliance across retailers: the manufacturer’s model number and the UPC. The storefront blocks automated browsing, and Best Buy’s developer API is limited to approved partners. Through AgentKey your agent reads public Best Buy listings the same way it reads everything else — find_tools, describe_tool, execute_tool — search, product pages and customer reviews.

What you can ask

  • “Search Best Buy for a 65-inch OLED TV under 1,500 dollars, highest rated first.”
  • “Which 4K monitors on Best Buy are newest? Give me title, brand and price.”
  • “Get the model number, UPC and description of this Best Buy TV.”
  • “Open this Best Buy laptop page and pull the price, brand, rating and images.”
  • “What are the most helpful reviews for this Best Buy soundbar? Summarize the complaints.”
  • “Show me the oldest reviews of this washer — did early buyers hit the same problem?”
  • “Take this Best Buy TV’s model number and check the price at Walmart and Target.”
  • “Best Buy 上这款显示器的差评主要说什么?“

What’s covered

Search
  • Keyword search with page controls and a price range
  • Sort by best match, best sellers, price, rating or newest
  • Title, price, rating and brand for each result
Product details
  • One product by its page URL — title, price, brand, model number, UPC, rating, description and images
  • The URL must carry the product’s SKU, which the URLs search returns do
Reviews
  • Customer reviews for a product by URL, a page of ten at a time — rating, title, text, date, reviewer and verified-purchase badge
  • Newest first (the default), oldest first, by relevance, most helpful, or highest or lowest rating
Store and currency
  • Coverage is bestbuy.com, Best Buy’s US site, priced in US dollars
The model number and UPC are the handle for cross-retailer matching: search Walmart and Target for the model number to find the same item there, Amazon for its marketplace price, and eBay sold listings for what a used unit resells for.

How to use it

Pass the request in plain language and let the router pick the tool:
Product and review tools take the product page URL, and search results carry it — use the URL a search returns, since Best Buy’s must carry the SKU. Prices come back as Best Buy shows them, in US dollars, not converted. Always describe_tool before executing: it shows the accepted sort values, the URL form product details expects, the page limits, and the per-call cost.
Building with code? Best Buy is available through the catalog tools above only; there are no fixed-contract Scenario Methods for it yet. See the Scenario Methods overview for the platforms that have them.

FAQ

No. AgentKey holds the upstream access; your agent only needs your AgentKey subscription.
No. Every tool is read-only — search, product details and reviews — and what comes back is what bestbuy.com shows online, not the stock of a particular store near you.
Best Buy identifies a product by its SKU, and the product-details tool reads the SKU from the URL. The URL a search returns carries it; if you paste a link from elsewhere, keep the whole URL rather than trimming it, and if a lookup still fails, search for the product and use the URL that comes back.
