# Car rental search for AI agents

> Booking.com car rental search: pick-up locations, available cars by date and driver age, vehicle and supplier details, ratings, reviews and a full price recap.

Renting a car has more moving parts than a hotel night — pick-up and drop-off
points and times, driver age, car category, supplier reputation, the fees that
appear at the counter. Through AgentKey your agent works through all of them
against Booking.com car-rental data with the same three calls — `find_tools`,
`describe_tool`, `execute_tool` — up to and including the final price recap.
It never places the reservation.

## What's covered

**Pick-up and drop-off locations**

* Autocomplete search for cities and airports, and search by name, address,
  city, state or country, returning the coordinates the rental search needs

**Rental search**

* Available cars for pick-up and drop-off coordinates, dates and 24-hour
  times, and a driver age between 20 and 65
* Filters by supplier, car category and the other facets the search itself
  returns, applied together
* Results as a feed of car cards with result counts and the available filter
  facets; prices in a chosen currency and text in a chosen language
* One of the search flows supports pick-up and drop-off at the same location
  only

**Vehicle and offer details**

* The full detail page for one offer: specification, price breakdown, fees,
  pick-up and drop-off depot information, and the link to the rental terms
* Package options available for an offer

**Supplier information**

* Supplier details for an offer — rating breakdown, opening hours, pick-up
  instructions, legal and contact information
* Supplier ratings and the customer review list

**Price recap**

* The "confirm your deal" summary for an offer: vehicle, pick-up and
  drop-off, and the full price breakdown — the last step before checkout,
  which stays with the user

## How to use it

Pass the request in plain language and let the router pick the tool:

The tools chain: location search gives coordinates, the rental search gives a
search key plus a vehicle id for each car, and the vehicle, supplier and
summary tools take that pair. Always `describe_tool` before executing — the
search requires dates, times and both sets of coordinates.

## FAQ

> **Does it reserve the car?**
>
> No. Even the booking summary is a price recap, not a booking: it shows the
> vehicle, pick-up, drop-off and the full price breakdown so the user can
> decide. No reservation or payment is made.

> **How current are the prices?**
>
> Fetched at request time for the dates, times and driver age you give. The
> search key ties the detail tools to that search, so re-run the search if
> a details call says the key is stale.

> **Which currencies, languages and locations?**
>
> Prices in any currency on Booking.com's currency list and text in any
> language on its language list; pick-up points anywhere its car-rental
> partners operate, found through the location search.
