# X (Twitter) data for AI agents

> Search tweets, read threads and replies, profile accounts, track followers, communities and trends on X (Twitter) through AgentKey — no developer account needed.

X is where news breaks and opinions form, and it is one of the hardest
platforms for an agent to reach: the official API is expensive and the website
blocks scraping. Through AgentKey your agent reads public X data the same way it
reads everything else — `find_tools`, `describe_tool`, `execute_tool` — with
several providers behind the scenes, so one route failing does not stop the
task.

## What you can ask

* *"What are people saying about AgentKey on X today?"*
* *"Pull the last 20 posts from @NASA and summarize the themes."*
* *"Show me the replies and quote tweets on this post, with the overall sentiment."*
* *"Who follows this account, and which of them are verified?"*
* *"Which accounts gained the most followers in the past week among these ten?"*
* *"What is trending on X in Japan right now?"*
* *"Is this account shadowbanned?"*
* *"List the members of this X community and what they have been posting."*

## What's covered

**Posts**

* Keyword search with X's operators — `from:`, `to:`, `since:` / `until:`,
  exact phrases, hashtags, media filters
* Post detail by ID or URL, in single and batch form
* Replies and comments, quote posts, the list of reposters
* Long-form articles, a user's media posts, a user's latest replies

**Users**

* Profile by handle or ID, single or batch; the "about" page; affiliates
* Followers and following, verified followers, follower category breakdowns
* New followers and new following over the last seven days
* Handle ↔ ID conversion, profile link → ID, live-status and shadowban checks

**Lists and communities**

* List posts, list members, list followers
* Community info, members and timeline; community search; keyword search
  inside a community; membership checks

**Trends and Spaces**

* Trending topics, by country
* Spaces information

**Relationship and quality signals**

* Does A follow B, did A repost or quote this post
* Follower-quality scores and their changes over time, top followers and top
  following by score

## How to use it

Pass the request in plain language and let the router pick the tool:

```text theme={null}
find_tools(q="what people are saying about AgentKey on X today")
find_tools(q="推特上 @NASA 最近发了什么")
find_tools(prefix="social/twitter")        # browse everything for X
describe_tool("<returned Provider/Operation>")
execute_tool("<Provider/Operation>", { ...params })
```

Both English and Chinese phrasing work, and aliases resolve (推特, Twitter and
X all land here). Always `describe_tool` before executing — parameters and
per-call costs differ between providers.

## FAQ

> **Do I need an X developer account or API key?**
>
> No. AgentKey holds the upstream access; your agent only needs your AgentKey
> subscription.

> **Can it read protected accounts or direct messages?**
>
> No. Only public posts, profiles and relationships are available.

> **How fresh is the data?**
>
> Every call goes to the platform at request time; nothing is served from a
> stale archive. Trend and search results reflect what X returns at that
> moment.
