# Weibo data for AI agents

> Weibo post search and detail, comments, reposts and likes, user profiles, posts and fans, plus the hot search ranking and entertainment, life and social lists.

Weibo (微博) is where Chinese news breaks and public opinion forms, and its hot
search list is watched by every newsroom and brand team in the country. The
official API has been closed to new developers for years. Through AgentKey your
agent reads public Weibo data the same way it reads everything else —
`find_tools`, `describe_tool`, `execute_tool` — with more than one provider
behind the scenes, so one route failing does not stop the task.

## What you can ask

* *"What is on the Weibo hot search list right now?"*
* *"微博上关于这个事件大家都在说什么？"*
* *"Pull this Weibo post with its comments and repost chain."*
* *"Show me the latest posts from this account and their engagement."*
* *"Who follows this Weibo account?"*
* *"Find posts mentioning our brand between 9 and 12 this morning."*
* *"What is in today's entertainment ranking?"*
* *"这个博主发过哪些视频？"*

## What's covered

**Posts**

* Post detail by ID or MID; likes and reposts on a post
* Keyword search inside a day-and-hour window, sorted hot or latest
* Advanced, realtime, comprehensive, picture, video and topic search
* AI search and AI smart search; similar-search recommendations
* Search within one user's own posts

**Comments**

* Comments sorted by time or hotness, paginated; sub-comments
* Whether a post allows image comments

**Users**

* Profile, basic and detailed info; user search
* Published posts, original posts only, timeline and profile feed, articles
* Videos and video collections, albums, audios, super topics
* Fans, followers and following lists

**Trending**

* The hot search ranking — the top ten or the full fifty; hot search brief and
  categories
* Hot ranking timeline; entertainment, life and social rankings
* The home recommend feed

**Video**

* Video detail, Weibo TV video detail, the featured video feed

## How to use it

Pass the request in plain language and let the router pick the tool:

```text theme={null}
find_tools(q="what is on the Weibo hot search list right now")
find_tools(q="微博上关于这个事件大家都在说什么")
find_tools(prefix="social/weibo")          # browse everything for Weibo
describe_tool("<returned Provider/Operation>")
execute_tool("<Provider/Operation>", { ...params })
```

Both English and Chinese phrasing work, and the platform's usual English and Chinese names all land here. Always `describe_tool` before executing —
parameters and per-call costs differ between providers.

## FAQ

> **Do I need a Weibo account or developer key?**
>
> No. AgentKey holds the upstream access; your agent only needs your AgentKey
> subscription.

> **Why does keyword search ask for a time window?**
>
> One search route mirrors Weibo's own advanced search, which filters by day
> and hour, so the agent passes a start and end time with the keyword. Other
> search routes do not require one; `describe_tool` shows which is which.

> **How fresh is the hot search list?**
>
> Every call goes to Weibo at request time, so the ranking is what Weibo
> shows at that moment; the hot ranking timeline route gives the recent
> history of the list.
