# Trending and hot lists across platforms

> Cross-platform hot rankings plus the hot-search and trending lists of Douyin, Weibo, X, TikTok, YouTube, Bilibili, Zhihu, Kuaishou, Xiaohongshu and WeChat.

"What is trending right now?" is the most common question an agent gets about
social media, and the answer lives in a dozen different hot lists, each on a
platform that does not want to be read. Through AgentKey your agent reads all
of them the same way — `find_tools`, `describe_tool`, `execute_tool` — and can
start from a single cross-platform ranking before drilling into one network.

## What you can ask

* *"What is trending across Chinese social platforms right now?"*
* *"今天全网热搜前十是什么？"*
* *"Has this keyword appeared on any hot list in the past two weeks, and where?"*
* *"Compare today's Weibo and Douyin hot searches — which stories are on both?"*
* *"What is trending on X in Japan and on TikTok today?"*
* *"Which Xiaohongshu notes went viral overnight?"*
* *"Which WeChat articles passed 100K reads yesterday?"*
* *"Show me the Zhihu hot list and the Bilibili popular feed."*

## How to use it

Pass the request in plain language and let the router pick the tool:

```text theme={null}
find_tools(q="what is trending across Chinese social platforms right now")
find_tools(q="今天全网热搜前十")
find_tools(prefix="social/hotspot")        # the cross-platform rankings
find_tools(q="hot search ranking", prefix="social/weibo")   # scoped to one platform
describe_tool("<returned Provider/Operation>")
execute_tool("<Provider/Operation>", { ...params })
```

Both English and Chinese phrasing work (热搜, 热榜, trending and hot list all
route here). Always `describe_tool` before executing — some rankings are live,
some are published once a day, and the parameters differ.

## FAQ

> **How fresh is a hot list?**
>
> Live lists — Weibo hot search, Douyin hot search, X trends, Zhihu hot
> list, Bilibili popular — are read from the platform at request time. The
> daily rankings (Douyin hot works and like-surge, Xiaohongshu hot notes,
> WeChat viral articles) describe the previous day and are refreshed once a
> day.

> **Can I look back in time?**
>
> Partly. The cross-platform keyword search covers a date range of up to 30
> days, Weibo has a hot ranking timeline, and several daily rankings accept
> a date. Live lists have no history; capture them on a schedule if you need
> one.

> **Can I pick a country or city?**
>
> X trends take a country, Douyin has a city hot list, and TikTok's search
> accepts a region. Other lists return what the platform serves for its
> default region.
