# Stock quotes and price history for AI agents

> Quotes, OHLCV candles from intraday to monthly, ticker search, trending tickers, option chains, market status and technical indicators for AI agents.

Price data is the first thing a finance agent needs and one of the most
fragmented: every vendor has its own symbols, intervals and limits, and the
exchange feeds themselves are priced for institutions. Through AgentKey your
agent pulls quotes, candles, option chains and market status the same way it
pulls everything else — `find_tools`, `describe_tool`, `execute_tool` — with
yfinance, Finnhub and AlphaVantage behind the scenes for global markets and
Tushare for China and Hong Kong.

## What you can ask

* *"What is NVDA trading at right now, and how far is it from its 52-week high?"*
* *"Give me two years of daily OHLCV for AAPL so I can backtest a moving-average crossover."*
* *"Weekly candles for Microsoft since 2005, adjusted for dividends."*
* *"Find the ticker for 'Taiwan Semiconductor' and tell me which exchanges it trades on."*
* *"Which tickers are trending in the US today, and who are the biggest gainers and losers?"*
* *"Pull the TSLA option chain for next month's expiry with implied volatility."*
* *"Are the Tokyo and London exchanges open right now?"*
* *"Compute the 14-day RSI and Bollinger Bands for MSFT."*

  [China A-shares](/capabilities/finance/china-a-shares)

**Symbols and screening**

  autocomplete

  as of a date
* Screener: rank stocks, ETFs, mutual funds and crypto by market cap, price,
  percent change, sector or region

**Options**

* Option chains: calls and puts across strikes and expirations with bid/ask,
  last price, volume, open interest and implied volatility

## How to use it

Pass the request in plain language and let the router pick the tool:

```text theme={null}
find_tools(q="two years of daily OHLCV for AAPL")
find_tools(q="特斯拉现在的股价")
find_tools(prefix="finance/yfinance")        # quotes, charts, option chain, screener
find_tools(prefix="finance/finnhub")         # real-time US quotes, symbol lookup, market status
find_tools(prefix="finance/alphavantage")    # 20-year series, options, technical indicators
describe_tool("<returned Provider/Operation>")
execute_tool("<Provider/Operation>", { ...params })
```

Name the interval and the market in the request ("weekly", "Hong Kong",
"options") and the router ranks the right provider first. Always
`describe_tool` before executing — symbol formats, interval names and per-call
costs differ between providers.

## FAQ

> **Are quotes real-time or delayed?**
>
> It depends on the route. One provider serves real-time quotes for US
> stocks; another returns a real-time or delayed snapshot depending on the
> exchange. `describe_tool` states what each tool returns. Historical candles
> are the same on every route.

> **Which symbol format should I use?**
>
> Most routes take the exchange-suffixed form, for example `0700.HK` for
> Tencent in Hong Kong or `600519.SS` for Kweichow Moutai in Shanghai, while
> plain `AAPL` works for US listings. One provider lists its symbols as
> exchange ticker plus exchange code. When unsure, resolve the name with the
> ticker search first and pass the symbol it returns.

> **How much history is available?**
>
> Daily, weekly and monthly series reach back 20+ years on the time-series
> routes. Intraday bars cover shorter windows; `describe_tool` documents the
> range each interval supports.
