# Company fundamentals and financial statements for AI agents

> Company profiles, income statements, balance sheets, cash flows, key ratios, peers, dividends, splits, ETF holdings and company news for AI agents.

Fundamental research means stitching together a profile, three statements,
ratios, corporate actions and the news flow from sources that each cover one
slice — and paying for each separately. Through AgentKey your agent reads all
of it with the same three calls — `find_tools`, `describe_tool`,
`execute_tool` — with AlphaVantage, Finnhub and yfinance behind the scenes, so
a missing statement on one route is filled from another.

## What you can ask

* *"Give me Apple's company profile — sector, industry, headcount, market cap, website."*
* *"Pull NVIDIA's last eight quarterly income statements and compute the gross-margin trend."*
* *"Compare the balance sheets of Ford and GM: debt, cash and equity."*
* *"What are Microsoft's P/E, margins and 52-week range?"*
* *"Who are Nike's closest peers in the same industry and country?"*
* *"List every dividend and split Coca-Cola has had since 2010."*
* *"What are the top holdings of the QQQ ETF?"*
* *"Summarize this week's news about Tesla and the overall sentiment."*

## How to use it

Pass the request in plain language and let the router pick the tool:

```text theme={null}
find_tools(q="quarterly income statement for NVDA for the last 8 quarters")
find_tools(q="苹果公司的资产负债表")
find_tools(prefix="finance/alphavantage")    # statements, overview, dividends, splits, ETF profile
find_tools(prefix="finance/finnhub")         # profile, basic financials, peers, as-reported, news
find_tools(prefix="finance/yfinance")        # quote-summary modules, fundamental time series
describe_tool("<returned Provider/Operation>")
execute_tool("<Provider/Operation>", { ...params })
```

Say "annual" or "quarterly" and name the statement you want; the router ranks
the matching tool first. Always `describe_tool` before executing — period
parameters, line-item layouts and per-call costs differ between providers.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Building with code?** The same capability is available as fixed-contract
> [Scenario Methods](/api-reference/scenario/overview) with automatic provider
> failover:
> [`finance.company.profile`](/api-reference/scenario/methods/finance-company-profile),
> [`finance.financials`](/api-reference/scenario/methods/finance-financials),
> [`finance.news`](/api-reference/scenario/methods/finance-news).

## FAQ

> **Annual or quarterly?**
>
> Both. Income statement, balance sheet and cash flow are available at annual
> and quarterly frequency, and the fundamental time series can be pulled at
> either frequency for trend work. `describe_tool` shows the period
> parameter for each route.

> **Are the numbers standardized or as reported?**
>
> Catalog tools return the vendor's own layout: some normalize line items,
> one returns financials exactly as the issuer reported them. If you need a
> stable schema across companies, the `finance.financials` Scenario Method
> returns normalized line items.

> **Which markets are covered?**
>
> US-listed companies have the deepest coverage. Profiles can be queried by
> ISIN or CUSIP as well as ticker, and company news is limited to North
> American companies on its route. For China and Hong Kong listings use the
> Tushare tools described under China A-shares.
