# Google Play data for AI agents

> Search Google Play by country, read an app's listing with installs and developer details, and filter its reviews by rating, keyword or language through AgentKey.

Google Play is where Android apps are found, and its listings show something
the App Store does not: an install count. Apps are identified by package name
rather than a numeric ID, and reviews can be narrowed by star rating, keyword,
language, app version and device type before your agent reads a single one.
Through AgentKey your agent reads Google Play search results, listings and
reviews the same way it reads everything else — `find_tools`,
`describe_tool`, `execute_tool` — choosing the store country where it matters.

## What you can ask

* *"Pull the latest one-star Google Play reviews for this app that mention 'crash' or 'login'."*
* *"How many installs does this Android app have, and who is the developer?"*
* *"Search Google Play in Germany for password managers and list their ratings, installs and prices."*
* *"Get this app's Google Play listing — developer contact details, ratings count, description and screenshots."*
* *"Show me Google Play reviews of this app from tablet users, newest first."*
* *"What are Spanish-language reviewers saying about this app's latest version?"*
* *"Pull Google Play reviews of this app from the last 30 days, sorted by rating."*
* *"这款 App 在 Google Play 上最近的差评都在说什么？"*

## What's covered

**Search**

* Apps by keyword in any store country, with a limit on how many results come
  back
* Package name, title, developer, rating, installs, price and category for
  each result

**App listings**

* One app by package name in any store country — title, developer and
  developer contact details, rating, ratings count, installs, price,
  description, screenshots and more
* Price and currency follow the store country you pick

**Reviews**

* Reviews by package name or store URL — rating, review text, date and
  helpfulness votes
* Filtered by star rating, keywords, languages, app version, device type
  (mobile, tablet or Chromebook), an end date, or the last N days
* Sorted by relevance, newest or rating
* A `limit` on how many reviews come back; set it to fetch only as many as
  you need

## How to use it

Pass the request in plain language and let the router pick the tool:

```text theme={null}
find_tools(q="one-star Google Play reviews for this app that mention crashes")
find_tools(q="这款 App 在 Google Play 上最近的差评")
find_tools(prefix="ecommerce/google-play")  # browse everything for Google Play
describe_tool("<returned Provider/Operation>")
execute_tool("<Provider/Operation>", { ...params })
```

Google Play sits in the E-commerce branch of the catalog. Search results carry
each app's package name, which the listing and review tools take, so search →
listing → reviews needs no manual parsing; the review tool also accepts the
store URL. Search and listings take a store country. Set a `limit` to fetch
only as many reviews as you need. Always `describe_tool` before executing: it
shows the country codes, the review filters and sort values, and the per-call
cost.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Building with code?** Google Play is available through the catalog tools
> above only; there are no fixed-contract Scenario Methods for it yet. See the
> [Scenario Methods overview](https://docs.agentkey.app/api-reference/scenario/overview.md) for the
> platforms that have them.

## FAQ

> [accordion] Do I need a Google Play Console account?
>
> No. AgentKey holds the upstream access; your agent only needs your AgentKey
> subscription.

> [accordion] Can it reply to, flag or post reviews?
>
> No. Every tool is read-only — search, listings and reviews. Nothing is
> posted, answered or reported.

> [accordion] How do I find an app's package name?
>
> It is the `id` in the app's Google Play URL
> (`play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.example.app`), and the search
> tool returns it for every result; the review tool also accepts the store
> URL as is. The same app on iOS is covered by the

> tools, which take Apple's numeric app ID instead.
