# Apple App Store data for AI agents

> Search Apple's App Store in any storefront country, read an app's listing with its rating, price and version, and page through its reviews through AgentKey.

Apple's App Store runs a separate storefront for every country, and an app's
rating, price and reviews differ from one storefront to the next. Apple's own
APIs need a developer account. Through AgentKey your agent reads App Store
search results, listings and reviews the same way it reads everything else —
`find_tools`, `describe_tool`, `execute_tool` — choosing the storefront where
it matters.

## What you can ask

* *"Find budget-tracker apps on the UK App Store and compare their ratings and prices."*
* *"Search the US App Store for meditation apps and list each one's rating and ratings count."*
* *"What does this app cost on the Japanese App Store, and which version is current there?"*
* *"Open this app's App Store listing — developer, rating, description and screenshots."*
* *"What are App Store users in Japan saying about this app?"*
* *"Pull the latest App Store reviews for this app, page by page, and group them by star rating."*
* *"Does this app rate higher on the App Store or on Google Play?"*
* *"这款 App 在美区 App Store 的最新评价怎么样？"*

## What's covered

**Search**

* Apps by keyword in any storefront country (US by default), with a limit on
  how many results come back
* App ID, title, developer, rating, ratings count, price and version for each
  result

**App listings**

* One app by app ID in any storefront country — title, developer, rating,
  price, version, description, screenshots and more
* Price and currency follow the storefront you pick, so the same app ID
  returns the local price in each country

**Reviews**

* Reviews by app ID and storefront country — rating, title and review text —
  page by page with a cursor
* A `limit` on how many reviews come back; set it to fetch only as many as
  you need

## How to use it

Pass the request in plain language and let the router pick the tool:

```text theme={null}
find_tools(q="latest App Store reviews for this app in Japan")
find_tools(q="这款 App 在美区 App Store 的最新评价")
find_tools(prefix="ecommerce/app-store")    # browse everything for the App Store
describe_tool("<returned Provider/Operation>")
execute_tool("<Provider/Operation>", { ...params })
```

The App Store sits in the E-commerce branch of the catalog. Search results
carry each app's ID, which the listing and review tools take, so search →
listing → reviews needs no manual parsing. Every tool takes a storefront
country. Set a `limit` to fetch only as many reviews as you need. Always
`describe_tool` before executing: it shows the country codes, the cursor for
the next page of reviews, and the per-call cost.

> **Building with code?** The App Store is available through the catalog tools

## FAQ

> [accordion] Do I need an Apple developer account?
>
> No. AgentKey holds the upstream access; your agent only needs your AgentKey
> subscription.

> [accordion] Can it reply to, flag or post reviews?
>
> No. Every tool is read-only — search, listings and reviews. Nothing is
> posted, answered or reported.

> [accordion] Can I read another country's storefront?
>
> Yes. Every App Store tool takes a storefront country, so search results,
> listings and reviews come back as users in that market see them, with the
> price in that storefront's currency. The same app on Android is covered by
> the [Google Play](https://docs.agentkey.app/capabilities/ecommerce/google-play-data-for-ai-agents.md)
> tools, which take a package name instead of an app ID.
