# Crypto market data for AI agents

> Live and historical crypto prices, rankings, K-line candles, CMC indices, Fear & Greed, on-chain indicators and spot ETF flows through AgentKey.

Market data is the first thing a crypto agent needs and the first thing that
breaks: free endpoints rate-limit, paid ones each want their own key, and
historical series are scattered across vendors. Through AgentKey your agent
gets quotes, rankings, candles, indices and on-chain indicators the same way it
gets everything else — `find_tools`, `describe_tool`, `execute_tool` — with
CoinMarketCap, Surf and Chainbase behind the scenes, so a price question can be
answered from a market aggregator or straight from the chain.

## What you can ask

* *"What is ETH trading at right now, and how much did it move in the last 24 hours?"*
* *"List the top 20 tokens by market cap with their 24h change."*
* *"Which meme coins gained the most today?"*
* *"Give me daily BTC candles for the last 90 days."*
* *"What is the Fear & Greed index today, and what was it a month ago?"*
* *"How much flowed into US spot Bitcoin ETFs this week?"*
* *"比特币的 MVRV 现在是多少？过去一年的走势如何？"*
* *"What does the 4h MACD look like for BTC/USDT right now?"*

## What's covered

**Quotes and listings**

* Latest quote — price, volume, market cap — for one or more cryptocurrencies
  by id, slug or symbol
* Ranked, paginated listing of every active cryptocurrency with current market
  data, or the ranking as it stood on a past date
* Token leaderboard sorted by market cap, 24h change or volume, with FDV,
  supply, ATH/ATL and 24h range; filter by category such as meme, AI, L1, L2,
  DeFi or gaming
* Current price and price history of a token by contract address, read from
  the chain

**Price history and candles**

* Historical quotes (price, volume, market cap) over an interval
* K-line candles — open, high, low, close, volume and trader count — and
  lighter K-line price points
* Price history over preset ranges from one day to all-time, or a custom
  from/to window
* Technical indicators for a trading pair on a given exchange and interval, as
  the latest value or a time series, with indicator-specific tuning

**Indices and market-wide metrics**

* CoinMarketCap 20 and CoinMarketCap 100 indices — latest value, constituents
  and weights, plus history
* Global cryptocurrency market metrics, latest and historical
* Fear & Greed index — latest value and history, with a classification label
  and the BTC price at each point

**On-chain indicators and ETF flows**

* On-chain indicator series for BTC and ETH: NUPL, SOPR, MVRV, Puell Multiple,
  NVM, NVT, NVT golden cross and exchange flows (inflow, outflow, netflow,
  reserve)
* Daily US spot ETF flow history for BTC and ETH — net flow in USD, token
  price and a per-ticker breakdown

## How to use it

Pass the request in plain language and let the router pick the tool:

```text theme={null}
find_tools(q="top 20 tokens by market cap with 24h change")
find_tools(q="比特币最近 90 天的日 K 线")
find_tools(prefix="crypto/market")        # browse everything in market data
describe_tool("<returned Provider/Operation>")
execute_tool("<Provider/Operation>", { ...params })
```

Both English and Chinese phrasing work. Always `describe_tool` before
executing — the identifier a tool expects (CoinMarketCap id, symbol, slug or
contract address), the interval options and the per-call cost differ between
providers.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Building with code?** The same capability is available as fixed-contract
> [Scenario Methods](/api-reference/scenario/overview) with automatic provider
> failover:
> [`crypto.market.list`](/api-reference/scenario/methods/crypto-market-list)
> for a ranked token list and
> [`crypto.token.price`](/api-reference/scenario/methods/crypto-token-price)
> for one token's current price and 24h figures.

## FAQ

> **Is historical data available?**
>
> Yes. Historical quotes, K-line candles, listings as of a past date, index
> history, Fear & Greed history, on-chain indicator series and daily ETF
> flows all accept a time range or interval. Candle granularity depends on
> the provider — `describe_tool` shows the options.

> **How fresh is the data?**
>
> Every call is fetched at request time from the provider; nothing is served
> from a stale archive. Quotes reflect what the aggregator or the chain
> returns at that moment.

> **Which assets do the on-chain indicators and ETF flows cover?**
>
> On-chain indicators (NUPL, SOPR, MVRV and the rest) and spot ETF flow
> history are available for BTC and ETH. Quotes, listings, candles and price
> history cover any listed cryptocurrency.
